Wheels will and do wear down. Usually your front wheels will start to cone frist. Narrowing on the outside edge of the wheel. You can flip and rotate your wheels from graphics outside to graphics inside and front to back. A 95a durameter wheel is still hard but noticeably softer than a 100a. The 100a is harder. It makes it easier to slide your wheels through tricks.
